The Hill and the Green
Around Richmond Green and up Richmond Hill, many houses are Georgian and listed. Their parapets hide lead roofs and concealed gutters, with slate or clay slopes the street never sees. Repair here means matching what is there, and the hidden gutter is nearly always where the trouble starts.
Victorian and Edwardian Richmond
Between the town and Sheen, and down towards Kew, the streets are Victorian and Edwardian terraces and villas under Welsh slate, with bays, back additions and shared stacks. Nail sickness, worn lead at the back additions and dormers from loft conversions make up most of what we do on them.
Kew
Kew mixes the Georgian houses around Kew Green with Victorian and Edwardian streets towards the station and North Sheen. Slate dominates, with clay on some later houses. Mature trees mean blocked gutters and valleys, and moss on north facing slopes holds water against the slate.
Petersham and Ham
Petersham is a village of Georgian houses, many listed, under the hill. Ham has older houses around Ham Common and well known post war estates, including houses by Span, with low pitched or flat roofs, tile hanging and timber boarding. Those roofs need a different eye from the period houses next to them.
St Margarets
Across the river towards Twickenham, St Margarets is a Victorian and Edwardian estate of terraces and semis under slate and clay. Front gables, bays and back additions are the details that let water in, and loft conversions are common.

North Sheen
