The Village and Church Street
Period cottages and houses under handmade clay tiles and slate, with the small dormers and steep pitches that make a roof pretty and awkward in equal measure. Lead is everywhere on these roofs and it is nearly always the lead that fails first.
The Larger Houses
Cobham and Oxshott have a lot of substantial detached houses, some Edwardian, many from the 1930s and a good number from the last thirty years. Big roofs with many hips and valleys, multiple chimneys, and on the newer ones a lot of flat roofed extensions and dormers. The newer roofs fail at the flat sections and the details; the older ones at the lead and the ridges.
